Details to follow! Posted By Ian on 03/26/09 A note from the Fort Collins festival director...
Good Morning Gentlemen!
I have the fun and pleasure of getting up each morning and going to the admin panel for the Fort Collins Irish Festival website to view the day before results on how many visitors, what's hot, what not, etc.
I want to share with all of you that your new release, Luck of the Irish is running on average a 4 to 1 ratio over all the songs being played on the website music player!
While I did position The Elders new song Luck of the Irish first because of your popularity with the Schreck family and our dear friend Claire, and all the others involved in our Festival, I really did not expect the ratios to be so one sided.
*CONGRATULATIONS!* On the Gael Day CD and my two favorites, Luck of the Irish and Raging Sea, you truly are the best and no Irish Festival or Irish celebration should ever be without The Elders!
Best,
John
Posted By Ian on 10/02/2010 Super fun show last night at Denver's great "Soiled Dove Underground". Despite having to sit through the painful 45 minute opening act of Vohn Stohl, the Elders more than made up for it in quick order!
The Thursday night crowd was clearly in a "Saturday Night" frame of mind. The Elders took the stage a little before 9:00 and roared through a lively 2 1/2 hour set. The acoustics in this club are really exceptional. The voice harmonies of "Men or Erin" and "Luck of the Irish" never sounded better live. "Ghost of Ontario" is fast becoming one of the real gems live. Of coarse, no one can ever sit during the famous "Buzz's Jig" !
For the encore, Brent did a hilarious vocal on "Purple Haze". Normally, Steve does this classic Hendrix riff to intro into something else. Not so this time, Brent saw it all the through with his soon to be famous vocals (we need this one on you tube)!
My wife , Rose, summed up the show best when she said, "Basically, every Elders show seems to start, where the last one left off!" Yea, that’s it! You find yourself right back in the same frame of mind you were in at the last show. The party continues like there was never a gap since the last show... It's as though it was really just a long intermission!
Can't wait for the next Colorado gig!

Posted By Tommy on 05/22/2009 Well we plowed through last weekend and emerged stronger than ever - The rain didn't slow the folks from St Ag one little bit and they all turned out (or in as it happened to be, relocated to the gym and we had a splendid time despite the storms) Scott's butt still reigns supreme along with the brisket... Thank you Rick and Carolyn for another superb job..
Saturday off to Yardley Hall at JCCC - really cool place - great sound and excellent staff. Got to see some old friends there as well.
Another great cause in a wonderful setting.
Sunday in Lincoln for our very good friends there - 3 sets in a nightclub .. how long has it been!! They took really good care of us - Thanks again Deb. This bands starting to sound pretty good..! Watch where you park, Ian
Then on to Omaha for Cindy Vance's birthday bash. What a sweetheart! Thanks to you and husband Frank for again making us so welcome. Another 3 setter but it was a treat for us to do this even in a hot tent. Great hospitality, great audience, great food, mighty fine craic .. somebody stole all my sharpies - what you gonna do?
Back in the air next week to New York, the Catskills, and beyond - Be safe my friends
Tommy
